Registration Procedures for Grossmont Health Occupations Center

FALL 2013 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The Grossmont Health Occupations Center will be offering the following classes for the Fall 2013 semester:

  • Nurse Assistant/CNA
  • Dental Assistant/RDA
  • Medical Terminology
  • Medical Assistant
  • Ophthalmic Assistant I
  • Introduction to Health Science
  • Emergency Medical Technician/EMT
  • Phlebotomy-Medical Lab Assistant
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Medical Receptionist-Insurance Forms

Orientation

Any student wishing to register for any of the classes above must first attend an orientation.            Sorry, no exceptions!

At this orientation, you will receive all information and registration requirements for the class you want to enroll in: overview of the course, schedule, costs, certifications (if any), etc.  You will also see our campus and meet our faculty.  

 

GHOC Entry Screening Test

While attending the orientation, you will sign up for an Entry Screening Test.  This is a basic test that covers 7th grade English and Math.  You will need to pass this test with a minimum score of 70% to be elibible for registration.  The test will be offered on the following dates and times:

Tues, May 21, 2013        9:30        1:30        5:30

Wed, May 22, 2013        9:30        1:30        5:30

Thurs, May 23, 2013       9:30        1:30        5:30

You will be notified of your score by mail.  The top scores will be given a registration appointment time.  You will need to register for the classes you want in person the week of June 10, 2013.

ADDITIONAL CLASSES AVAILABLE

The following classes are also open to enrollment, but do not require you to attend an orientation.  You may enroll beginning July 10, 2013 at 8:00 am either in person at GHOC or here on this website.  

  • IV Therapy
  • RN Refresher/Re-entry
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Healthcare Interpreting
  • CEU's for CNA's
  • Understanding Cardiac Arrhythmia
  • Math Review
  • English Review
  • Medical Billing & Coding (Requires proof of successful completion of Medical Terminology.)
