          With their caring, compassion and expertise, Certified Nurse Assistants are a vital key to their patients’ health           and well-being.  This 240 hour state-approved course combines classroom instruction, labs, and clinical                  training to prepare students for California certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant. Prerequisites: a passing           score on the HOC Math/English Assessment test, certification with the American Heart Association
          BLS for the Healthcare Provider, physical exam, and immunizations.  No HS Diploma or equivalency required           for this class. Additional fees required for the State Certification exam fee, and LiveScan fingerprinting.

          Required Fall Textbooks to purchase from Amazon:  Lippincott Textbook for Nursing Assistants:  A                          Humanistic  Approach to Caregiving:  Textbook and Workbook Package.  ISBN# 9781496321855.  You must           have your textbook on the first day of class.

CEUs for CNAs (Continuing Education Units for CNAs)

          $20.00 per class

          Registration at the HOC office required prior to date of class 

Certified Nurses Assistants can earn continuing education credits as you learn about a variety of issues affecting your elderly clients.  Class is held on    the second Saturday of each month for 6 hours/day.  Each hour of instruction is equal to one CEU.   $20.00 per class.  Register at the HOC office for  as many or as few classes as you would like to.  No refunds within 48 hours of the class.   Prior to 48 hours of class there is a $5.00 refund.
