Course Description:

Have you thought of returning to the field but fear that your nursing skills are out of date?  This course might be just what you are looking for!  The course is open to RNs who have a fully active license without probationary status, current attached reports, or filed accusations.  You must also have your own malpractice insurance.  Theory portion consists of 135 hours of theory content and is held at The Health Occupations Center.

 

Prerequisite:  

A passing score on the HOC Math/English Assessment test.  Clinical portion consists of 196

hours of acute care clinical experience and will be three 8 hour shifts (24 hours) per week at Kaiser Hospital, 4647 Zion Avenue, San Diego, 92120.  You must be available for day or evening shifts and possible weekends.  Prerequisite for clinical:  successful completion of theory portion and possess intermediate level computer and keyboarding skills.  This course is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider No. 00446, for 30 contact hours.

Our spring 2018 RN Refresher class has already started.  Your next opportunity to start at the Health Occupations Center’s RN Refresher class is fall 2018.  Fall 2018 orientations will be on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 9:00 am at The Health Occupations Center.  Fall 2018 schedules and costs will be posted by early June 2018.
