Course Description:

This 50 hour course introduces theories and practical aspects of healthcare interpreting. Students will learn   about the role of the interpreter, understand and apply processing and information management skills, ethics   and ethical decision making and become knowledgeable about the profession. These techniques and skills can be applied in healthcare, education, asylum, mental health and social services environments.  Good communication is essential and your classroom participation is very important.

Prerequisite:  A passing score on the HOC Math/English Assessment test.  Completion a Medical Terminology class.  No HS Diploma/GED required for this class.
